I love radiology!

I'm 3 weeks into my radiology residency, and I'm lovin' it! I'm so thankful that I'm doing something that I really enjoy. I've been doing fluoroscopy so far...basically doing gastrointestinal and urologic studies using contrast, then taking images with the fluoroscope (a live video x-ray machine). The majority of the studies are esophagrams, where the patient drinks barium and I watch it go down...how cool is that! Surprisingly, I do VCUGs almost everyday...this is when I catheterize the bladder (usually an infant, but sometimes older children), then let contrast drip in until they're crying cuz they have to go pee. Then I make them pee on the table so I can take pictures of their urethra. haha

In other news, Gyju and I recently joined the worship team at our church, New Community Presbyterian Church. We played for the first time last Sunday. Gyju sounded great with her Korg. I on the other hand messed up a couple of times....combination of being nervous and being rusty. But it was so nice to play with a full worship team...it's been awhile.

And finally, Kyle is doing great. He can lift up his head almost while lying on his stomach. He weighs over 16 pounds already...I think that's pretty heavy for a 3 month old. But the best part is how he responds with baby talk now and smiles. He's so cute...can't describe how I feel when I look at him...
