Gyju and I went to an outlet mall this past weekend to look around. On the way back into the city, Gyju had the sudden urge for a boba drink, so we headed to Chinatown. Gyju waited in the car as I walked up to Joy Yee's, a popular, hip chinese restaurant famous for its variety of boba and jelly teas and smoothies. I ordered up the regular, a strawberry tapioca freeze. I took a few long sips of it as I walked back to the car before I handed it over to Gyju....hehehe. Gyju had the biggest smile on her face when I gave it to her...she had been craving it for a couple weeks now.
Anyways, we got back to the apartment. Gyju got a phone call and took it to the bedroom and put her drink by the computer where I was sitting. There was only a little left, so I sucked up the remaining tapioca and smoothie. About this time, I had realized that walking around in the cold dry air (the outlet mall is outdoors) had clogged up my nostrils with boogers, making it difficult to breathe thru my nose. So I stuck a finger and pulled out a big booger. Ahhhh....felt much better. But where to put it? I looked around for a tissue but none within reach. I didn't feel like getting up, so I looked at the big fat straw sitting in the smoothie cup...you know, those fat straws to accomodate the tapioca balls? So I conveniently dropped the booger down the straw. And I cleared out my other nostril and did likewise.
As I was surfing the net, I didn't even notice Gyju coming out of the room. While I was looking at the monitor, I heard a sucking noise all of a sudden. I looked up to see Gyju had picked up the cup and was trying to sip the remaining puddle of juice at the bottom! "STOP!!!!!" I yelled and she froze, looking at me with confused eyes, straw still in her mouth. "Did you suck up anything???" I asked.
"Just a little," she said. Then I couldn't help but start to laugh, Gyju looking at me with confusion and asking what's so funny. When I explained to her what I had done with my boogers, an expression of disgust and anger came over her face. And of course, she went to the bathroom and rinsed her mouth out for 5 minutes, saying that she was gonna hurl. I couldn't hold back the laughter...but I did feel bad at the time. Puahahaha!
